I am happy to announce I have started the Vitality diet to better relate to patient experiences and to shed the unwanted weight…fast! I know that the long term benefits of the diet will be having a healthier lifestyle and decreasing the risks of chronic diseases. I’m sharing my experiences in a cheerful blog to answer your most common questions, give tips for success, and motivate you along the way! Give yourself the gift of weight loss and start living the healthy lifestyle you always wanted.
Starting the Vitality Diet
I started the diet Friday so that I could “fat load” over the weekend. While fitting as much of my favorite foods as I could stuff into my mouth over the weekend, I went grocery shopping for the allowed diet foods. I enjoyed shopping for lean meats and vegetables while snacking on the junk foods I would soon have to part with. I highly recommend this strategy! Although it seems counter-intuitive to binge on fats, it is very important to indulge during this phase to be successful. So eat at all your favorite restaurants while fat loading as I did. I had multiple servings of the guacamole, did not hesitate to order the entree I actually wanted, and confidently replied to the server with a, “yes, I will have that cheesecake, please.”
Remember you are applying the Mac-LQ cream every day that you are fat loading. Don’t forget a food scale and digital scale for your daily weights! I found it helpful to weigh the meat for the week ahead at once and then freeze what I wasn’t using.
Trim Tip: If you are going to miss soda, a drink called Zevia (available at whole foods and central market) is an acceptable beverage on the diet…and not to mention delicious!

I’m on the third day of the 500 calorie portion of the diet and I’m not doing too bad! Six weeks will go by fast and the best part is I’ve already lost 2 pounds. In fact, I feel good and my appetite is minimal. Sautéed spinach and perfectly seasoned meat was for dinner last night. I couldn’t believe it tasted so good, so I thought for sure I had a hungry alter ego that tried to add something not allowed! After realizing that there was no chance I messed up the simple recipe, I packed lunch for the next day. I confess, this idea of following recipes frightened me at first since I am no expert chef. I’m not totally disoriented in the kitchen, but let’s just say I don’t have friends and family talking about any “Stephanie’s famous dish.” However, the recipes have been easy so far! The cookbook is Dr. Spurlock’s masterpiece of delicious diet friendly recipes that make the diet convenient and enjoyable. I can’t wait to try the chicken kebabs and the shrimp tacos.
Trim Tip: If you are worried about hunger, we offer an appetite suppressant. It may be helpful to take the first few days after fat loading, but typically it is not needed once your body adjusts.
